Discovering the XXth century Milanese design

In the style capital

Starting from the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum and heading towards Villa Necchi Campiglio, you come across numerous 20th-century buildings, in styles ranging from Art Nouveau to Novecento Italiano. The itinerary also encompasses fascinating art galleries and design showrooms, including Nilufar, Fragile, Bisazza, De Vecchi, not far from one another. On leaving the museum on Via Gesù, you enter Via Senato, where at No. 11, you come to the so-called Palazzo per residenza e uffici (Palazzo for residence and offices), with decorations by Lucio Fontana. It will be a pleasure to be inspired by the fabulous world of Fornasetti, inside the big show room at the corner with Corso Venezia. The marvellous Villa Necchi Campiglio, where you can stop for a coffee in the lovely cafeteria or in the garden, closes the itinerary.
