Palazzo Borromeo D'Adda - From House to House

Palazzo Borromeo D’Adda

Palazzo Borromeo D’Adda

Completed in 1825, this neoclassical residence was designed by architect Gerolamo Arganini for Count Febo Borromeo D’Adda, who was a favourite pupil of Giuseppe Parini. The long façade is unostentatious: the piano nobile is distinguished by the alternating curved and triangular tympanums above the windows and has a central balcony supported by four Ionic columns that also serve to frame the portal.  The internal courtyard and staircase made a strong impression on the visiting Stendhal.
